Starting her academic career as a research assistant at the Istanbul Commerce University, Faculty of Law Major in Commercial Law in 2001, Eda Giray, J.S.D. currently continues her academic duty in Commercial Law/Intellectual Property Law in Marmara University, Vocational School of Justice Law Department since 2011.

 

Being also an experienced mediator, Eda Giray, J.S.D. has been working both academically and in practice on alternative dispute resolution methods since 2013. She was an instructor in mediation trainings organized by Özyeğin University and Kadir Has University. Presently, she still participates as an instructor in mediation trainings organized by Marmara University, Istanbul University and Istanbul Commerce University both on elementary and expert levels. Hence, Eda Giray, J.S.D. officiated as the Coordinator for Training on Mediation in Legal Disputes and Mediation in Business Disputes organized by Marmara University in 2018.

 

As one of our esteemed consultants, Eda Giray, J.S.D. carries on her intensive academic research in the fields of Joint-Stock Corporate Law, Negotiable Instruments Law, Competition Law and Personal Data Protection Law, along with a special focus on Intellectual and Industrial Property Law, Art and Copyright Law, Unfair Competition Law and Media and Advertising Law. Eda Giray is also a member of the Commission for Personal Data Protection at the Marmara University.

 

Eda Giray, J.S.D. continues to contribute in shaping the legal practice and the literature in the right direction through her academic work as well as the tasks she assumes before various professional and publishing associations and non-governmental organizations. In this context, Eda Giray, J.S.D. officiated as an Executive Board Member for the Intellectual and Industrial Rights Commission of Istanbul Bar Association between 2008-2013; and she currently carries on with the task as the Deputy Assistant for Chairman of the Executive Board between 2018-2020.

 

She is the Editor in Chief and peer reviewer of the Legal Journal of Intellectual Property Rights since 2016. Eda Giray, J.S.D. regularly assumes tasks in the Intellectual and Industrial Property Law Trainings organized by the Istanbul Bar Association and she assists her students in contacting universities abroad and prepares them for moot courts so that they can prepare better for their professional lives.
